Let me remind you; it was Republican policies that made the last four years a living hell for many Americans. Republican policies. 

One thing you will hear about incessantly for the next three days is the deficit. You'll hear how President Obama is running a record deficit, and you'll hear how this incredible deficit makes him completely irresponsible. 

It's all a crock. If they want to look at the causes of the deficit, they should look inward, because the massive defcits are 100% the fault of Republican policies. 

The first thing you need to realize is, Republicans simply didn’t care about the deficit. In mean, they were handed a huge surplus when they were “selected” by the Supreme Court to take over the government in 2001. Surpluses were predicted for at least the next ten years, at relatively low tax rates. The economy was steaming along, even in the wake of a mild downturn after the tech bubble burst. First thing they did was to cut taxes and revenues, and sink the country into deficit spending. In 2002 Dick Cheney famously said, “Deficits don’t matter.”
